About the Author
Latoya Johnson-McRae
Known for her tender heart, relatable teaching style, and willingness to address difficult conversations with both truth and grace, Latoya believes that some of our greatest areas of pain can become places where God reveals His greatest power. Her ministry is rooted in the belief that healing requires honesty, restoration is possible, and the Word of God must always have the final authority.
Latoya is the founder of Rubies Empowerment Circle, an initiative created to encourage, equip, and empower women through faith, fellowship, and honest conversations. She is also a Certified Life Coach and has used her voice through ministry, motivational speaking, teaching, and writing to encourage people to move beyond what wounded them and embrace who God has called them to become.
Her passion for writing is deeply connected to her own journey. She is a contributor to Unexpected Pathways: Journeys of Women in the Workforce, co-author of Kingston’s Krown, and author of Rubies: 40 Promises for Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse. In When Sheep Bite Sheep, Latoya continues her commitment to creating space for conversations that are often difficult but necessary, this time addressing hurt within the Body of Christ and the biblical journey toward accountability, forgiveness, healing, and restoration.
Beyond ministry and writing, Latoya is a wife, mother, professional, mentor, and servant-leader who understands what it means to balance faith with the realities of everyday life. She believes ministry extends far beyond the pulpit and that our greatest testimony is often demonstrated in how we love, serve, forgive, and treat one another.
Above every title she carries, Latoya considers herself first a sheep who belongs to the Good Shepherd. Her desire is not to point readers toward perfect people or perfect churches, but toward Jesus Christ, the One who still leads beside still waters, restores souls, binds wounds, and brings His sheep back into green pastures.
You may have been wounded in the pasture, but the Good Shepherd has not forgotten you. Healing is possible. Restoration is here.
